Hanami (花見, “flower viewing”) is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers; I wanted to finally create an illustration celebrating the beautiful cherry blossoms of spring. I adore spring and it’s definitely my favourite season!
I recently made myself a Spotify playlist to lift up my mood, help me feel good and remind myself of the bad B I really am. I think it’s important for us women to empower ourselves, to take ownership and feel good about our bodies too! This is what I was channelling whilst drawing this image.

This project has been a work in progress for the past couple of months for the talented and good friend Safiyyah. She’s dropping her first EP and it was a great opportunity for us to finally collaborate and create something amazing! We work together at our local leisure centre and instantly hit it off as friends, we vibe so well (and so do our art forms!) and always used to discuss that we one day have to collaborate on something together – and here it is! I hope this is the first of many collaborations for us.

Since reaching Twitch Affiliate, I’ve been so happy and wearing lilac/purple this whole week! Including this illustration I’ve been doing on stream which is my Teasona – for those who don’t know, I love a cuppa tea! I also drink it often in my streams, so I only felt it adequate to draw myself with Lavender-like tea leaves chilling (or brewing?) in tea. What I love about drawing my own original artworks is that you can really express how you’re feeling at the time, and it’s always fun to reflect back on!
