A good friend of mine (and also dedicated client!) has commissioned me to illustrate another picture to give his lady friend as a birthday present. I was first given this task last year and comparing the 2017 illustration to this year’s one, I am so happy and impressed with how much I have improved not only with my skill, but with my composition, colouring and speed.
She is beautiful, inspiring and a great role model to look up to. It’s Yara Shahidi!
So back in November 2017 I did some filming with BBCThree for their ‘Things Not to Say to Cosplayers’ episode! It was so much fun to do, an exciting and quite nerving experience too, but never did I think that from me just planning out the creation of my Moana costume this time last year would get me to here! I’m really proud of myself for doing this, I usually shy away from the camera but it’s so important to capture these kind of moments – it’s definitely a stepping stone for me. Watch out for more cosplays in future! Enjoy the video, it was good fun to do 🙂
Many new updates to my shop on Society6 including stickers, backpacks and new tote bags plus tons more! Check it out 🙂
There was a problem with uploading this last month but here you are and it includes a plus one where I celebrated the first day of Autumn!
I apologise for the delay in showing these but here are the photos from London Comic Con where I cosplayed as Moana! Everything was entirely handmade and I am so happy with the results, it looks really authentic – like I am a real islander!
May ID illustration – Aliyah and Moana fusion in celebration of completing my cosplay and I shall be attending London Comic Con dressed as her! I hope the weather is gorgeous for it too 🙂
Here are just some the finished commissions from clients and my Fivesquid orders from this month alone! It’s been really busy for me because aside from doing these, I have also been illustrating two children’s books. Keep an eye out for more images from these next month!
Currently near completion of creating my Moana cosplay from scratch! I wasn’t able to find her costume online that was made nicely and in my size, so I decided to take on the ongoing project of creating it myself and it has been a lot of fun! I created the top and belt with the help of my aunty who is embroidering the skirt, it looks so organic and tribal! Really true Moana’s heritage.
What’s nice about being an artist is that your craft and skills cross over all platforms 🙂
Final photos of the entire cosplay together will be up soon!
