Portrait Commissions

Aside from the long term commissions for illustrating children’s book, I have also taken on a couple of short term commissions. These were both for the same client (and old friend!) both portraits were birthday presents – what could be more of a surprise and a unique gesture than giving an illustrated portrait!

Projects Progression

I would like to update you on what I’ve been doing for the past few months of 2017. As well as doing personal ventures, I have been illustrating 2 books – working on the sequel to ‘Superstar Kids’ and a new title called ‘The Adventurers’. I have been volunteering as an Artist at Paddington Arts, a local youth centre which I have been going to since I was a child so I am very happy to be giving back to them! AND a collaboration painting with Annette Fernando, this was for the 24 Hearts project in tribute for Grenfell Tower and in time for Carnival.

I have definitely been the busy bee, have a look below to find some of the recently finished pieces. I am very proud of what I have achieved so far, to see progression in my art style and way of working is very satisfying and I aim to keep this up!

April’s Finished Commissions

Here are just some the finished commissions from clients and my Fivesquid orders from this month alone! It’s been really busy for me because aside from doing these, I have also been illustrating two children’s books. Keep an eye out for more images from these next month!

Commission Status: Closed

Hey all! Just updating you to let you know that my commissions are currently closed, this includes the Fivesquid service. I have many commissions to be getting on with already and including children’s books to illustrate. I will update once I am available again soon. 🙂

Thanks all!

Feb ID 2017

My February ID design as part of my own personal art challenge – draw an ID every month throughout this year! I really love this one, I feel like I have successfully channelled myself through this illustration.

Sizwe Portrait Commission

Sizwe Portrait

A commissioned portrait I did for the gorgeous singer Sizwe from The Dahna Project. She gave me a lot of creative freedom to draw this and she was a lot of fun to draw because she’s very graceful and relaxed. I hope I caught her essence in this piece of her!

Valentines Day Drawings

screen-shot-2017-01-26-at-01-39-21

I am currently doing a limited time commission for Valentines Day! If you would like to give your partner a different sort of present, why not give an illustration of you and your other half together. The illustration can either be traditionally drawn, coloured and posted to you to give to your loved one OR digitally painted and printed on 260gsm glossy paper along with the digital image emailed to you. All in time for the special day!

Contact me and send along a photo you would like illustrated and I shall give you a quote! I need all orders in by February 3rd.

Many thanks!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year everyone! Thank you for the continued love and support for my artwork and the book I illustrated! Click here to buy the book on Amazon: Superstar Kids: Rhyming Moral Fun! The book is made by order so ignore the out of stock notice!

I have a lot of plans for 2017, I am hoping to have my first stall selling my personal pieces and prints at expos! I will confirm all details about this soon. I also am hoping to collate all my works in to an ‘Art of Aliyah’ book and you can see all of my progression, concept, explanations and tips too!

More than ever, I hope 2017 brings me more self love, inner peace and courage and I hope to express this through my art even more!

Peace! ❤

Art Update

I have been a real busy body of late! Many requests are coming through from authors to illustrate their books and I have started a new part time job at the Disney Store too. My life is taking a whole new turn and I am very happy at the way it has unfolded. So much has happened to me within a year, it’s unreal but I feel more in control of my happiness especially career-wise. I hope to one day quit my day job and really be a full time artist! The only way is up.
