A BAD BXTCH

I recently made myself a Spotify playlist to lift up my mood, help me feel good and remind myself of the bad B I really am. I think it’s important for us women to empower ourselves, to take ownership and feel good about our bodies too! This is what I was channelling whilst drawing this image.

You can follow the Spotify playlist here!

The Taro Series

Being a big lover of bubble tea and most of my wardrobe containing purple/lilac clothes, I was driven and inspired to illustrate my love for taro flavoured bubble tea!

I also love green tea and brown sugar flavours too. So there may be more images to come with the different friends who love to drink bubble tea just as much as me!

Black Lives Matter

This illustration was actually an unfinished piece from 2018 that I came across it whilst I was organising my files on my laptop. That’s when the idea hit me, and I was able to complete the piece with haste because it just was the perfect composition and concept for me to portray an issue I feel really passionate about and that is incredibly close to home.

As we all slowly adjust back to reality and lockdown eases; remember this isn’t a moment, it’s a movement. Protect the young black minds that will drive the next generation, we are all helping to bring change.

BLACK LIVES STILL MATTER.

Aliyah Art on Twitch

I am now frequently livestreaming on Twitch my art and video game playthroughs too!

Do come and check it out.

I feel that livestreaming for me as an artist and also a gamer is a great way for me to showcase and marry two of my most favourite hobbies and share that with my friends and community. I am looking forward to seeing where this takes me! Below are two illustrations that I completed on the livestream.

Scroll through the gallery to see the progress from start to finish of the acrylic painting! I absolutely love Willow Smith and after her latest album dropped, I was inspired to paint her and this selfie she posted was so colourful and ethereal, I just had to paint it! I absolutely love painting and found it incredibly relaxing – I definitely will be doing more. 🙂

Interview

I was interviewed by the lovely Heeral whom I met on a project for young people that I was coordinating last year. She studies illustration and needed to write an interview and essay about her favourite illustration – which was a piece done by me! I am very flattered and happy to share this 🙂
